Incorporating the Irrational Substrates of Cognition into an ABM Research Framework

We propose a research framework for agent-based modeling that treats cognition as a mechanistic substrate rather than a simplifying assumption. The framework emphasizes attention, memory, inertia, and regime-switching dynamics as first-class components, and outlines how these elements reshape emergent social structure under stress, scarcity, and ideological pressure.
